Bibimys torresi Massoia 1979, Physis, sec. C., 38 (95): 3.

Type Locality: Argentina, Buenos Aires Prov., Paraná River delta at the confluence of Arroyo Las Piedras with Arroyo Cucarachas, Campana, Estación Experimental del INTA, Canal 6 (as refined by Pardiñas, 1996).

Vernacular Names: Torres' Akodont.

Distribution: EC Argentina.

Conservation: IUCN – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: Karyotype (2n = 70) reported by Dyzenshauz and Massarini (1999) and contrasted to species of Scapteromys.
