Type Locality: Indonesia, South Java, Tji-Tangoi river, Kallipoet-jang.

Vernacular Names: Canut's Horseshoe Bat.

Subspecies::

Subspecies Rhinolophus canuti subsp. canuti Thomas and Wroughton 1909

Subspecies Rhinolophus canuti subsp. timoriensis Goodwin 1979

Distribution: Java, Bali, Timor (Indonesia).

Conservation: IUCN 2003 and IUCN / SSC Action Plan (2001) – Lower Risk (nt).

Discussion: euryotis species group. Formerly included in creaghi; see Hill and Schlitter (1982).
