Description

Genus Platina gen. nov.

Diagnosis: Body flattened dorsoventrally; caudal cilium and glabrous area present; ectoplasmic alveolar layer conspicuous; somatic kineties generally forming transverse rows; perioral kineties composed of several transverse rings; circumoral kinety incomplete.

Etymology: The genus name Platina (platy -) refers to the flat body, a main distinguishing feature of this genus. Feminine gender.

Type species: Platina marina gen. nov., sp. nov.
