Invertebrate and Ichnofauna of the Upper Campanian Wenonah Formation, Northern Atlantic Coastal Plain, New Jersey and Delaware, USA

Description

It has been over 60 years since Horace G. Richards (and others) published the 2-part bulletins describing the fossil invertebrates found within the Late Cretaceous strata of the New Jersey portion of the Atlantic Coastal Plain. Since that time numerous papers and several websites have been dedicated to describing and discussing vertebrate fossils from these strata, but little new work has been done regarding the invertebrates. This current work is an effort to update and augment this very important invertebrate fauna from the Wenonah formation of the Northern Atlantic Coastal Plan (NACP) Late Cretaceous section. The NACP includes Late Cretaceous deposits which outcrop in Central and Southern New Jersey, Northern Delaware and Eastern Maryland.

This work is largely due to the efforts of the Monmouth Amateur Paleontologists’ Society (MAPS), its founder Ralph Johnson, and the Delaware Valley Paleontological Society. It is hopefully intended that additional volumes will be forthcoming regarding the invertebrate faunas of other Late Cretaceous formations of the NACP.
