MEVLEVI MUSIC AND WHIRLING

Spiritual traditions come and go on this planet.  Some remain for many cent-uries even millennia.  Others mutate or change with time.  Sometimes it is the politicians or society leaders who change them or even ban their practise.  One which I have been intimately connected with is the tradition of the Sufis known worldwide as the whirling dervishes.  Also known as the Mevlevi, named after the great Sufi Saint known as Mevlana or Rumi, from whom it originated.   This paper is an interview on this subject.
