Whole-genome sequencing of a Bacillus thuringiensis strain BLB30AF selected for its capacity to express an InhA3 type metalloprotease
Authors/Creators
Description
This study presents the whole genome shotgun sequencing (WGS) results of a Bacillus strain isolated from Saudi Arabia soil (BLB30AF) chosen for its ability to produce a metalloprotease inhA3 with activity against Lepidopteran insects. Based on the MLST classification, BLB30AF was identified as a member of the Bacillus cereus group, and more specifically, as a B. thuringiensis strain. The complete genome sequence of this strain will provide valuable insights into the roles of key genes related to its ability to produce metalloproteases, as well as its mechanism of biological control of insect pests.
