L'équipe de développement de la méthode BaRatin est heureuse de vous annoncer la sortie de sa nouvelle interface graphique BaRatinAGE version 3.0 (Abondance Affinée) pour Windows et Linux. BaRatin est une méthode bayésienne à base hydraulique simple pour l'estimation des courbes de tarage hydrométriques, des hydrogrammes et des incertitudes associées. BaRatinAGE v3 est un nouveau logiciel offrant les mêmes fonctionnalités que BaRatinAGE v2 et de nouvelles possibilités, dans un cadre plus ergonomique. Venant de BaRatinAGE v2, vous trouverez le cadre de BaRatinAGE v3 très familier, et un fichier étude .bar.zip créé avec BaRatinAGE v2 peut être importé dans BaRatinAGE v3. Une évolution majeure quoique invisible aux personnes utilisant le logiciel est le remplacement du moteur de calcul spécifique à BaRatin par la plateforme plus générique BaM!, qui permettra de proposer d'autres modèles de courbes de tarage que le modèle BaRatin « historique » dans de prochaines versions de BaRatinAGE v3. BaRatinAGE et le coeur de calcul BaM! sont open-source (licence GPL3) et sont respectivement disponibles aux adresses https://github.com/BaRatin-tools et https://github.com/BaM-tools.

Les principaux changements par rapport à BaRatinAGE v2 sont les suivants :

• Un nouveau site web dédié à BaRatin a été créé, où vous retrouverez notamment la documentation utilisateur, des cas d'étude ainsi que des ressources diverses. Nous vous encourageons à le consulter !
• La spécification des a priori peut se faire sur les paramètres physiques des contrôles (comme précédemment) ou directement sur les paramètres k-a-c à estimer. Dans ce cas, d'autres distributions que la distribution gaussienne sont possibles, et la valeur d'un paramètre peut être fixée au lieu d'être estimée.
• L'import des jaugeages et des limnigrammes est plus facile grâce à la définition du format d'import « à la carte », compatible avec une variété de formats de fichiers textes.
• Il est possible de définir les distributions a priori des paramètres du modèle d'erreur structurelle.
• De nombreuses améliorations graphiques et ergonomiques ont été apportées, dont l'implémentation d'une réelle réactivité (suppression des boutons « appliquer » là où c'était possible), la détection de résultats non synchronisés avec la configuration, le suivi de la progression des calculs de BaM!, lune simplification/amélioration de la navigation entre les différents panneaux d'un projet, l'intégration des légendes aux graphiques, la gestion des formats de date-heure pour les séries temporelles, etc.
• Il y a davantage de possibilités d'export des graphiques et des résultats en fichiers texte CSV, pour des utilisations hors de BaRatinAGE.
• L'ajout ou la correction de langues sont facilités (voir la procédure ici). N'hésitez pas à nous partager vos corrections ou ajouts de nouvelles langues pour que nous les mettions à disposition de tout le monde. Cette version 3.0 est livrée avec 27 langues, la plupart étant des traductions automatiques n'ayant pas encore été révisées par des locuteurs natifs (un grand merci aux correctrices et correcteurs !).

The BaRatin method development team is pleased to announce the release of its new graphical interface BaRatinAGE version 3.0 (Abondance Affinée) for Windows and Linux. BaRatin is a Bayesian method with a simple hydraulic basis for estimating hydrometric rating curves, discharge series and their uncertainties. BaRatinAGE v3 is a new software package offering the same functions as BaRatinAGE v2 plus new functions, in a more user-friendly environment. Coming from BaRatinAGE v2, you will find the BaRatinAGE v3 framework very familiar, and a .bar.zip study file created with BaRatinAGE v2 can be imported into BaRatinAGE v3. A major development, although invisible to software users, is the replacement of the calculation engine specific to BaRatin by the more generic BaM! framework, which will make it possible to offer other models of rating curves than the 'historical' BaRatin model in future versions of BaRatinAGE v3. BaRatinAGE and BaM! are open-source (GPL3 licence) and they are available at https://github.com/BaRatin-tools and https://github.com/BaM-tools, respectively.

Here are the main changes from BaRatinAGE v2:

• A new website dedicated to BaRatin has been created, where you'll find user documentation, case studies and other resources. We encourage you to have a look!
• The prior information can be specified on the physical parameters of the controls (as before) or directly on the k-a-c parameters to be estimated. In this case, distributions other than the Gaussian distribution are available, and the value of a parameter can be fixed rather than estimated.
• Importing gaugings and stage series is made easier by the definition of an 'à la carte' import format, compatible with a variety of text file formats.
• Prior distributions of structural error model parameters can be defined.
• Many graphical and ergonomic improvements have been made, including the implementation of true reactivity ('apply' buttons removed wherever possible), detection of results that are not synchronised with the configuration, monitoring of the progress of BaM! calculations, simplified/improved navigation between the various panels of a project, integration of legends into graphs, management of date-time formats for time series, etc.
• There are more options for exporting graphs and results as CSV text files, for further use outside BaRatinAGE.
• Adding or correcting languages is easy (see the procedure here). Feel free to share your corrections or additions of new languages with us so that we can make them available to everyone. This version 3.0 comes with 27 languages, most of which are machine translations that have not yet been reviewed by native speakers (many thanks to the proofreaders!).
