Phytochemical analysis of Surinam cherry (Eugenia uniflora L.)
Authors/Creators
Description
Invasive species are those species introduced to an environment that becomes overpopulated and harms the new environment. E. uniflora is one such species native to Brazil. This plant possesses several ethnomedicinal uses in traditional practices, making this species a valuable one. Therefore, qualitative phytochemical analysis was carried out using three extracts (aqueous, methanol, and ethanol) and observed that the fruits are edible and have different bioactive compounds. The investigated phytoconstituents are presented here to highlight their pharmacopotentials.
