SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SOME TERNARY CERIUM (III) COMPLEXES WITH 1, 5-DIMETHYL-2-PHENYL-4 [(2-THIENYLMETHYLENE) AMINO]-1, 2-DIHYDRO-3H-PYRAZOL-3-ONE SCHIFF BASE AND HETEROCYCLIC LIGANDS

Description
The mixed ligand complexes of Ce (III) with Schiff base (L) derived by the condensation of 4-aminoantipyrine with 2-thiophenecarboxaldehyde and heterocyclic ligands like 1, 10-Phenanthroline, 8-Hydroxyquinoline and 2-Aminopyridine have been prepared and studied. The ternary complexes were characterized based on elemental analysis, conductivity data, infrared spectra, electronic spectra, thermal studies and magnetic susceptibility data. In these complexes, the Schiff base acts as a primary ligand and heterocyclic ligands acts as a secondary ligand which coordinates through the oxygen/nitrogen heteroatom.
