THE DECLARATION OF ECONOMIC FREEDOM AND PROGRAMMED OBSOLESCENCE AS A FACTOR OF USURPATION OF CONSUMER RIGHTS: A MATTER OF RESPONSIBLE PUBLIC POLICY
Description
The objective of this research is to demonstrate that the Declaration of Economic Freedom brought a setback by allowing companies to usurp consumer rights through planned obsolescence. The finding of such a reality justifies the present research, as it indicates the need for public policies that will curb it. The methodology adopted was deduction with use of bibliographic methods and use of jurisprudence to corroborate the need for specific public policies. The result obtained was the need for public policies that would restrict or put an end to the effects of programmed obsolescence supported by the Declaration of Economic Freedom.
