Empowering product environmental information exchange via a dynamic DPP scheme: DigInTraCE innovative approach in developing solutions to optimize use of secondary raw materials and reducing waste as part of circular value chains.

Description

Process industries are engaged in efforts to effectuate a reduction in emissions and promote circularity through the minimization of waste and the utilization of secondary raw materials.

The transition towards a circular economy necessitates innovative solutions to enhance resource efficiency, minimize waste, and promote sustainable product lifecycles. One such solution that has gained prominent is the integration of digital product passports (DPP). DPP are data-driven systems that provide comprehensive information about a product's journey, from its origin through its entire lifecycle. By leveraging advanced technologies, DPPs offer insights into material traceability, circular design attributes and end-of-life management.

The EU funded DigInTraCE project will employ state-of-the-art tracking, sensing, and sorting techniques to formulate a transparent and interoperable decentralised traceability platform with a focus on the pulp and paper chemical sectors.
