THE PRODUCTION OF THE COCOON IN THE MULBERRY SILKWORM AND THE DEVELOPMENT OF SILK INDUSTRY IN UZBEKISTAN
Description
By the end of the fifth instar, the development process of the silkworm is completed. The caterpillar stops eating leaves and crawls around looking for a place to make a cocoon, while at the same time expelling the remains of liquid substances in its intestine. Most of the caterpillars move quickly to cocoon by crawling up the stalks or higher up the side of the stilts, but some Chinese caterpillars have no such movement and simply cocoon.
