CSU 1DVAR -- GMI Warm Rain Retrieval

Authors/Creators

  • 1. Chalmers University of Technology

Description

Supporting information for publication on a variational retrieval of warm rain from the GMI sensor aboard the GPM satellite. Enclosed are two output data files as well as the code and ancillary files necessary to run the retrieval for a GMI orbit. The only code not included is the CRTM radiative transfer code, which is freely available via FTP and should be installed locally, as well as relevant netCDF and HDF5 libraries. To run other orbits, a user should get GMI L1CR orbital files (pps.gsfc.nasa.gov), GEOS5 FP-IT global analysis files (gmao.gsfc.nasa.gov/products/), Reynolds SST files (www.ncdc.noaa.gov/oisst). Lastly, note that the source code makefiles use the ifort Fortran compiler.
