Seven Reasons Why Institutional Publishing Services Are Indispensable for Open Access

In our poster, we make the following seven statements about why institutional publishing services have been indispensable science communication services worth funding for more than twenty years now!
1. Technical and conceptual innovations are our daily business.
2. We set and use standards regarding quality, metadata and open science.
3. We build networks nationally and internationally, institutionally and in projects.
4. We make research results visible, as publishing is a core task of academic institutions and their libraries.
5. We anticipate what researchers need; the needs of the scientific community are at the centre of our actions.
6. We act fairly and in partnership through science-friendly contracts and user-friendly licenses.
7. We make researchers’ diamonds sparkle, we were and are the change towards Diamond OA.
We would like feedback on our statements. As a working group for German-speaking university presses and institutional publishing services, we want to highlight the importance of local publication services and discuss ideas for better recognition and support. Excellent services deserve adequate funding!
