Description
Through its participation in DIAMAS, Skills4EOSC and GraspOS, OPERAS contributes to the development of a community-driven scholarly communication ecosystem with Open Science principles at its core. This poster will demonstrate the relationships between the components of each project and how they interact to enable sustainable change in the OS landscape. We present the 5 pathways the projects commonly address: Mentality Change, Community Building, Skills and Competencies, Infrastructure Support, and Research Assessment Evolution. These pathways complement each other, and each project contributes to different outputs. DIAMAS will focus on community-driven and collaborative publishing models and provide support to the Community of Publishers and Service Providers; moreover, it will develop online training materials and design the Common Access Point, a virtual knowledge exchange hub. Skills4EOSC addresses Researchers, Policy Makers and Scholarly Communication Professionals with key messages on why OS practices are necessary and tailor-made learning pathways that will guide the training and professionalisation of future OS practitioners. It will also establish a network of Competence Centres supporting training activities beyond the project’s timeframe. Finally, GraspOS is working in parallel to establish new ways of delivering research assessment through better monitoring of OS practices. By creating new pathways to accessing data for a variety of research outputs and new indicators, GraspOS is providing opportunities for embedding new practices in the Responsible Research Assessment movement. Key Outputs of the project include OS protocols for Research Assessment in SSH and the Open Science Assessment Framework. All of OPERAS’s efforts will be filtered through its pilot on the SSH thematic area.
