THE EUROPEAN AI OFFICE'S LEGAL STATUS

Description

The article examines the legal status of the European Office of Artificial Intelligence as part of the administrative structure of the General Directorate for Communication Networks, Content and Technologies.

It is noted that on the centenary day, the European Union, as well as the legislative bodies and governments of the EU countries, are implementing special regulatory acts aimed at legal support for the use of artificial intelligence.

It has been investigated that the activities of the Office of Artificial Intelligence are aimed at monitoring the disclosure of general purpose artificial intelligence models and systems.

The article emphasizes that the Office of Artificial Intelligence should play a mostly supporting role in ensuring compliance with rules related to artificial intelligence systems, since most of the responsibility lies with national authorities in the specified area.

The article examines that the level of legal regulation of relations in the field of artificial intelligence in Ukraine remains insufficient and needs further deepening and improvement.

It has been proven that the legal status of the Office of Artificial Intelligence is currently not highlighted in scientific circles due to the novelty of both the body itself and the main regulatory act that establishes its legal status.

The article establishes the main elements of the legal status of the Office for Artificial Intelligence. The place of the Office of Artificial Intelligence in the structure of the Commission's bodies and the mission of the Office of Artificial Intelligence as a structural component of the Commission's management system were studied.

The article lists the duties of the Office for Artificial Intelligence. The task of the Office of Artificial Intelligence, which establishes harmonized rules for artificial intelligence, has been studied.

It has been proven that the Office of Artificial Intelligence will play a key role in the AI Law enforcement architecture. Conclusions were made regarding the legal status of the European Office for Artificial Intelligence.
