WOMEN IN STEM
Authors/Creators
Description
Currently, the level of women's employment in the STEM field remains low - in the USA, as in Ukraine, they make up only 25% of workers, in the UK - 13%. The level of women's representation in leadership positions is even lower. Why do such disparities exist? According to girlswhocode.org, 74% of high school girls are interested in engineering, science and math. But only 0.3% choose computer science as a major when they get to college. A 2017 Microsoft survey in Europe found that girls are interested in STEM at age 11, but then lose that interest at age 15.
