Employee Engagement with respect to IT Industry

Abstract: Employee cooperation is very important for all organizations because having effective strategies in place helps to create a better work culture, reduce staff numbers, increase productivity, build better work and customer relationships, and contribute to corporate profits. Employee retention is a major issue faced by the IT industry today. Salary is only one of the ways to keep an employee in an organisation. Employee engagement has emerged as one of the buzzwords in organisation wherein every organisation is focussing on building the employee engagement as it would have a long-lasting effect on employee satisfaction, employee productivity and employee commitment. This paper attempts to study the level of employee engagement in the organisation. A sample of 150 employees was taken from the IT industry, and statistical tools were applied. Employee engagement variation was also checked based on the difference in demographic profiles. The impact of employee engagement on employee satisfaction and productivity was tested. The result shows the positive correlation between the employee engagement, satisfaction and productivity.
