Description
Abstract
Bridge construction has now achieved global significance. In this evolution era,
prestressed box girder bridge is becoming more and more popular the bridges as
it has improved serviceability, aesthetic appearance, better stability, and also
economical. It has also structural efficiency. In this research, analysis, and design
of prestressed concrete box girder bridges are carried out using MIDAS Civil
design software and a prestressed balanced cantilever span are selected for the
design. For the study, the AASHTO LRFD-12 code is taken as standard. The main
goal of this study is to determine the structural behaviour such as bending
moment, deflection, force, compressive strength, flexural strength, crack width
at service, principle stress, and shear stress of a three-span box girder bridge for
different loading conditions and subsequent geometrical and material
requirements of bridge components and also its performance at different
construction stages.
