RAL Space Infrared-Mirowave-Sounding (IMS) Scheme Ozone Profiles: 2008-2009
Creators
Description
Satellite reitreives of ozone profiles from the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory (RAL) Space Infrared-Mirowave-Sounding (IMS) scheme for 2008 to 2009. IMS retrieves temperature, water vapor, ozone, surface spectral emissivity and cloud jointly from co-located measurements by the Infrared Atmospheric Sounding Interferometer (IASI), the Microwave Humidity Sounder (MHS) and the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit (AMSU-A) on the EUMETSAT's MetOp-A satellite. More details on the IMS retrieval scheme and products are discussed by Pope et al., (2021 - doi: 10.1029/2021JD034892). This particular version of the IMS dataset was only processed for 1 in 10 days. A fully processed version of the data is available from RAL Space on request.
This satellite data product from RAL Space was used in the accepted (2024) manuscript in Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics (ACP) titled "Quantifying the tropospheric ozone radiative effect and its temporal evolution in the satellite-era". The DOI for the preprint is doi: 10.5194/egusphere-2023-1513.
