HANZE v2.2 flood impact model

Description

This flood impact model:
(a) creates high-resolution (100 m) maps of land cover/use, population, GDP and fixed assets for 42 countries in Europe from 1870 to 2020, also with uncertainty bounds for defined hazard zones. The code in this repository requires input data stored in another repository (see metadata). The output maps are also stored separately.
(b) reproduces some of the data preparation for flood impact data calculation.

(c) generates a model flood catalogue of coastal, riverine, and compound floods, including footprints, damage estimates, and validation, for 42 countries in Europe from 1950 to 2020.

More functionalities will be added in future versions.

V2.0.1: a correction was made to disaggregation of GDP, as the code incorrectly used 50:50 ratio of labour to capital instead of 60:40 ratio as in the methodology. The output GDP and uncertainty files were recomputed.

V2.1: adds scripts related with historical impact data preparation.

V2.2: adds code for generating a flood catalogue
