Description

The code can be opened and executed using python in JupyterLab or Jupyter Notebook.

1 Forestation scenarios design.ipynb – Generates the forestation scenarios used in this study.

2 The sensitivity of surface wind speed to forest coverage.ipynb – Calculates the sensitivity of surface wind speed to changes in forest cover.

3 The relative change in surface wind speed.ipynb – Estimates wind speed changes under different forestation scenarios.

4 Wind energy technical energy calculation.ipynb – Computes the wind energy technical potential for various forestation and technical scenarios.

5 Carbon sequestration calculation.ipynb – Calculates carbon sequestration under different forestation scenarios.

6 Figures in main manuscript.ipynb – Performs post-processing and generates the figures presented in the main text.

The code in the WindEnergyUncertainty and WindSpeedUncertainty folder was used to calculate the standard deviation based on outputs from eight ESMs.
