Description

Report on the incorporation of a gender dimension into the 400 Energy-SHIFTs research priority questions through application of the Gender Innovation Approach (GIA). The aim was to demonstrate how implementing gender sensitive research may help achieve gender equality and justice in the context of energy transitions. The results show that the GIA was applicable to some 69% of all questions, with application being illustrated by published research in 38% of them. Gender remains to be mainstreamed into research on energy and energy transitions, but mainstreaming is imperative if research is to help advance gender equality in energy transitions.
