WRFsnowdrift
Authors/Creators
Description
WRFsnowdrift is a module to simulate drifting snow within the Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) model. It allows for snow to be eroded/deposited from/to the ground, transport with the resolved wind and by turbulent diffusion, and for drifting snow sublimation including a two-way coupling to the temperature and moisture fields. The model has been tested in idealized environments for physical consistency and has been applied to real-world settings. The module is based on WRF version 4.1 and has been successfully applied up to WRF version 4.3.1.
