Description
The publication focuses on the preservation and improvement of dog breeds. The
main purpose of this process is to select and match parents with the best genetic characteristics to
produce offspring with the desired qualities. The principles of pedigree breeding allow us to preserve
and enhance the positive aspects of the breed, as well as reduce the risk of hereditary diseases and
defects. One of the main advantages of breeding dogs is the ability to confirm the purebred nature of
the breed. In dog breeding, this is achieved through the use of unrelated, related and lineage breeding.
This is particularly important for purebred dogs, for which blood purity and breed specificity are
important criteria. Breeding also allows for the control and management of genetic diversity within a
breed, which helps to preserve and improve their unique traits and characteristics.
