eLTER PPP Deliverable D1.3 - Roadmap for European and global partnerships

This deliverable is the first version of the eLTER vision and mission. Four main strategic goals were identified to accomplish the vision and mission of eLTER. These strategic goals are:
1. Facilitate innovative research for addressing grand societal challenges
2. Design and operate a distributed and highly functional network of eLTER in-situ facilities across Europe
3. Create a unique and widely accessible service portfolio
4. Promote collaboration, integration, and a conducive working culture

To achieve these strategic goals, specifically goal 4, the eLTER RI will build on sustainable strategic partnerships. The purpose of these partnerships are synergies and to promote and enable a wider range of strategic, scientific, technological and operational collaborations. Co-location of in-situ facilities with existing and emerging environmental monitoring networks and research infrastructures and initiatives shall be achieved where reasonable
