ASPECTOS FISIOPATOLÓGICOS Y TERAPÉUTICOS BÁSICOS DEL ENVENENAMIENTO ESCORPIÓNICO

RESUMEN

El propósito de este artículo fue la elaboración de un documento con la información suficiente que permita contribuir a optimizar el conocimiento sobre el manejo del envenenamiento escorpiónico y sea de ayuda, para reducir sus tasas de morbilidad y mortalidad. Para ello se realizó una revisión de la bibliografía sobre los principales aspectos de la fisiopatología y de la terapéutica del escorpionismo. En total, se seleccionaron y revisaron 57 artículos mediante MEDLINE (PubMed), LILACS y Google Académico, de los cuales se obtuvieron datos concretos suficientes para lograr el objetivo propuesto.

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this article is to prepare a document with the enough information to contribute to optimizing knowledge about management of scorpion envenoming and to help reduce morbidity and mortality rates. To this end, a review of the literature on the main aspects of the pathophysiology and therapeutics of scorpionism, was carried out. In total, 57 articles were selected and reviewed through MEDLINE (PubMed), LILACS and Google Scholar, from which concrete data was obtained to achieve the proposed objective.
