Spongia lapidescens subsp. mauritiana var. pacifica Hyatta 1877

Authors/Creators

Description

Spongia lapidescens subsp. mauritiana var. pacifica Hyatt, 1877

Spongia l apidescens subsp. mauritiana var. pacifica Hyatta, 1877: 528.

Hyattella sinuosa; Von Lendenfeld 1889: 119, pl. 15 fig. 1.

Hyatt’s name is not an available name (as it is the fourth name, ICZN art. 45.5). Lendenfeld’s (1889) assignment to Hyattella sinuosa (Pallas, 1766) is judged to be unlikely, so I propose to assign this material from the Mexican Pacific provisionally to Hyattella aff. hancocki (Dickinson, 1945: 3), a Hyattella species from the Mexican Pacific.
