Spongia officinalis subsp. tubulifera var. prava Hyatt 1877

Authors/Creators

Description

Spongia officinalis subsp. tubulifera var. prava Hyatt, 1877

Spongia officinalis subsp. tubulifera var. prava Hyatt, 1877: 513, pl. 16 fig. 17

Spongia tubulifer a; Wiedenmayer 1977: 55.

Spongia pertusa; Van Soest 1978: 12.

Hyatt’s name is not an available name (as it has a fourth name, ICZN art. 45.5). I propose to assign this material from the Caribbean region to Spongia (Spongia) anclotea De Laubenfels & Storr, 1958 (cf. Van Soest et al. 2020: 45).
