Genome-wide association study - Perceived aging - UK Biobank

Authors/Creators

Description

Genome-wide association study (GWAS) summary statistics for perceived youthfulness within the UK Biobank. 450,000 participants rate their perceived youthfulness (data field 1757) by responding to the question "Do people say that you look?: A) younger than you are; B) older than you are; C) about your age”. The GWAS was run using Bolt-lmm, and the effect estimates for each genetic marker have been transformed using a Taylor shrinkage parameter. The GWAS summstats are for both sexes combined and males and females seperately. See Paper, Ingold et al. (2024), for more details.

Coloumns

SNP - Single nucleotide polymorphism identifier

CHR - chromosome number

BP - Base position on human genome build 37

ALLELE1 - effect allele

ALLELE0 - non -effect allele

A1FREQ - effect allele frequency

INFO - Imputation quality metric

Taylor_Beta - effect estimate, derived from a Boltlmm effect estimate, adjusted with a Taylor shrinkage parameter to better reflect the estimated effect of a linear regression of an ordinal trait.

Taylor_SE - Taylor adjusted standard error of the effect estimate.

P_BOLT_LMM_INF - infinitesimal mixed model association test p-value

P_BOLT_LMM - non-infinitesimal mixed model association test p-value
