Redescription. Male. Body oblong, slightly convex above, shining, covered closely with yellowish-white setae throughout. Coloration of body almost brownish black; antennomeres 2–7 yellowish-brown; scutellum and surrounding part of elytral suture brown. Each elytron with yellow pattern consisting of: anterior broad transverse stripe of three spots, situated in proximal 1/4; stripe consisting of four small oblong spots, situated just behind the middle, arranged transversely; posterior circular spot, situated near apex.

Head wide, almost flat on dorsal surface, closely punctate; clypeus long, with almost straight front margin. Eyes large, prominent; the distance between the eyes ca. 2.2 times as long as the maximum diameter of the eye. Antennae long, relatively slender, exceeding proximal 1/3 of elytra; approximate ratio of each antennomeres as 1.4: 1.0: 1.4: 1.8: 2.2: 2.0: 1.6: 1.6: 1.6: 1.6: 2.0. Pronotum slightly convex above in the middle part of disk, closely punctate; front margin gently arcuate; antero-lateral angles strongly projecting anteriorly, arcuate; lateral margins gently arcuate, slightly convergent anteriorly; postero-lateral angles almost right-angled; posterior margin gently arcuate; PW/PL 2.41. Scutellum large, subtriangular, punctured as on pronotum. Elytra oblong oval, widest at the middle, slightly convex above, closely and regularly punctate; sides evenly arcuate; humeri slightly convex above; EL/EW 1.31; EL/PL 4.67; EW/PW 1.48; TL/EW 1.59. Hind coxal plate distinct. Legs relatively long. Hind tibial spurs curved laterally; dorsal ones ca. 2.2 times as long as ventral ones, ca. 0.7 times as long as hind tarsal segment 1. Abdominal sternite broad; sternites III–IV somewhat sparsely covered with short setae; sternites V–VII closely covered with relatively long setae; caudal margin of sternite VII concave. Tergite VIII broad, well sclerotized, covered with fine spines in caudal portion; posterior margin bearing long spines in mesal portion, with short spines in lateral portion; apodemes short and stout, protruding from near antero-lateral corners. Sternite VIII membranous; tergite IX lightly sclerotized, bisinulate in posterior margin, sparsely punctate, with a pair of long and stout apodemes protruding from antero-lateral angles; sternite IX lightly sclerotized, oblong, densely covered with short setae in apical portion. Tegmen well sclerotized, U-shaped, connected with penis in lateral portion; parameres large, clawlike, dorsally curved, pointed at apices. Penis well sclerotized, cross-like; posterior part slightly curved dorsally, gently tapered to apex, with pointed apex; anterior part plate-like, expanded ventrally in proximal part; transverse arm connected with tegmen.

Female. Unknown.

Measurements. Male (n = 1): TL 4.25 mm; PW 1.81 mm; PL 0.75 mm; EL 3.50 mm; EW 2.68 mm.

Distribution. Borneo Isl. (W Sarawak).

Notes. The species is similar to Scirtes septemmaculatus sp. n., from which it differs in having black elytra with contrasting pattern (elytra dark brown in S. septemmaculatus sp. n.), and the morphology of the aedeagus: parameres subequal in lengths in S. flavoguttatus, in S. septemmaculatus sp. n. one paramere is much longer.
