The Daylam soldiers and the Turks and their political struggle in the Buyid era

Abstract: The soldiers, due to the scarcity of livelihoods and salaries, were constantly declaring riots against the caliphs, the Buyid princes, their ministers, and even their leaders due to the intensification of financial distress and the rise in prices. Then their riots stopped when money was distributed to them. The conflict also occurred between the soldiers themselves, especially between the Daylam and the Turks, who were considered two prominent elements in the Buyid army, and the focus of their conflict was the policy of discrimination followed by the Buyid princes by bringing one group closer together and alienating others. The princes themselves paid the price for this policy, as their army was weak and could not withstand the real challenges facing the state. The research was divided into an introduction and three chapters. The introduction included the emergence of the Buyid era, while the first section included the struggle of the political soldiers with the caliphs, and the second section dealt with the struggle of the political soldiers with the Buyid princes. The third section included the conflict between the soldiers among themselves.

الجند الديلم والترك وصراعهم السياسي في العصر البويهي

ملخص الدراسة: ان الجند وبسبب شحة الأرزاق والرواتب كانوا في إعلان دائم للشغب على الخلفاء والأمراء البويهيين ووزرائهم وحتى على قادتهم لاشتداد الضائقة المالية وارتفاع الأسعار ، ثم يتوقف شغبهم بتوزيع الأموال عليهم . كما وقع الصراع بين الجند أنفسهم ولاسيما بين الديلم والترك الذين عُدوّا عنصرين بارزين في الجيش البويهي ، وكان محور صراعهما سياسة التمييز التي اتبعها الأمراء البويهيون بتقريب فئة وإبعاد أخرى. فدفع الأمراء أنفسهم ثمن هذه السياسة فكان جيشهم ضعيفاً لم يصمد أمام التحديات الحقيقية التي واجهت الدولة، قسم البحث على تمهيد وثلاث فصول، شمل التمهيد نشأة العصر البويهي، اما المبحث الاول فشمل صراع الجند السياسي مع الخلفاء، وتناول المبحث الثاني صراع الجند السياسي مع الامراء البويهيين، اما المبحث الثالث فتضمن الصراع بين الجند فيما بينهم.
