Learning is portrayed as a multifaceted process encompassing knowledge acquisition, skill development, and adaptive behavioral modification. The role of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in transforming education is highlighted, emphasizing its ability to engage learners through interactive multimedia resources, facilitate communication and collaboration, and provide access to vast information sources. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is introduced as a transformative technology in education, with the ability to analyze student data and personalize learning experiences. AI is integrated into gamified platforms, aiding in content creation and curation, and supporting virtual classrooms. The study specifically discusses ChatGPT, an advanced chatbot developed by OpenAI, as an example of AI application in education, detailing its capabilities in responding to diverse queries and engaging in complex tasks. The integration of AI in education is acknowledged to have both advantages and disadvantages. The study adopts a focused approach, using ChatGPT as an illustrative example, to explore the practical implications and nuanced dynamics of AI implementation in educational contexts. The study underscores the need for a comprehensive understanding of the merits, challenges and ethical considerations associated with AI in education for educators, policymakers, and stakeholders.
