Spatial model of land value for the Brazilian territory with 1km resolution
Authors/Creators
Description
The comprehensive assessment of land value is essential for understanding land-use dynamics and informing sustainable land management strategies, particularly in conservation and restoration sciences. Despite its significance, accurate land value information is often lacking at finer scales, hindering comprehensive research. Although the Brazilian Government has been publishing annual land value data since 2019, presented in PDF format with limited spatial coverage, its usability for nationwide studies is restricted. To address this challenge, we propose a rigorous methodology that integrates advanced geospatial analyses, agricultural production estimation, and machine learning techniques to predict land values across Brazil. By leveraging high-resolution land use/cover data, agricultural suitability information, and socioeconomic indicators, this study aims to enrich our understanding of spatial land value patterns in Brazil. Ultimately, our research contributes valuable insights to land use planning, natural resource management, and decision-making, particularly in conservation and restoration sciences.
