124. Syntormon aulicum (Meigen, 1824) (Sympycninae) — new to Portugal

Number of specimens recorded. 2.

Distribution. Europe; also North Africa. Portugal: one province (Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro).

Ecology. The only two Portuguese specimens of this species were encountered along a riparian corridor and in a permanent pasture (Lameiro) crossed by a small stream. In northwestern Europe, this species is mainly recorded from permanent reed marshes and ditches with reed vegetation (Decleer et al. 2015).

Rarity (%). 2.3 (rare). Very rare (FL).

Activity period. June, September.
