Diceratias trilobus Balushkin & Fedorov 1986 — Two-rod anglerfish

Status at New Ireland. First recorded from north of Feni Island, Tannga Group, Namatanai District, New Ireland by Pietsch et al. (2006: S98); previously misidentified as Diceratias bispinosus (non Günther, 1887) by Paxton & Lavenberg (1973: 47); based on AMS I.15602-001.

Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 5.—General distribution: widespread in southeastern Indian Ocean and western Pacific Ocean. Bathypelagic, 503–1216 m depth. Marine.
