White Lady - Southern Necropolis (Grave No 21)
Description
The 'White Lady' is a gravestone and memorial located within the Southern Necropolis in Glasgow's Gorbals area. It dates to 1933 and was dedicated to John S. Smith, carpet manufacturer, his wife Magdalene and their housekeeper Mary McNaughton. It also tells the story of the tragic deaths of Magdalene and Mary in a road accident. The Statue is also said to turn its head when people walk by it.
