Social Network Analysis from the ESIIL Summit

A report on the 2023 ESIIL Innovation Summit, held at the University of Colorado Boulder on May 23-25, 2023. This first ESIIL Summit brought together over 175 participant form around the world and included partners from a variety of sectors including (but not limited to) universities, government agencies, tech companies, Tribal organizations, and research institutions. Over the course of the Summit, participants attended plenary talks and breakout sessions and engaged in networking opportunities. Social network analysis (SNA) was used to characterize the Environmental Data Science (EDS) community. SNA allowed us to study the goal of building a diverse and inclusive ESIIL network and evaluate the ESIIL network more broadly.
