Description
Stone statue of Bridget of Sweden in Vienna.
Bridget of Sweden, also called Brigitta, was an advisor to two popes. Thus she was able to work for a peace policy, for example in the Hundred Years' War between England and France and in the church division which threatened from 1375. Birgitta of Sweden was proclaimed Patroness of Europe by Pope John Paul II in 1999.
