Benwood Shipwreck, FKNMS (June 2017)
Description
Model of the *Benwood* shipwreck in the NOAA Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary Shipwreck Trail. The *Benwood* was built in England in 1910 and sank after colliding with the *Robert C. Tuttle* on April 9, 1942. The *Benwood* was 360 feet long with a 51 foot beam. For additional historical and archaeological information, visit http://floridakeys.noaa.gov/shipwrecktrail/benwood.html.
The photogrammetric model is composed of 6460 aligned images collected June 1, 2017 by Indiana University, NOAA, and Boy Scouts of America scientific divers with support from a Preserve America grant. Model area is ~3070 square meters. Estimated error is 0.0085718 m.
