Walter Reed Birthplace
Description
This small white house at the corner of Belroi and Hickory Fork Rd in Gloucester, VA was the birthplace of Dr. Walter Reed, who played a critical role in identifying the cause of Yellow Fever, allowing communities around the world to successfully contain and even eradicate the disease. The property is cared for by the Gloucester Preservation Foundation and the Fairfield Foundation.
