Description

Only remnants of the formerly important border castle Rýzmberk remind of its eventful history. Already in the late Bronze Age here was a site. The first mention of the castle is from 1279 and it served to control the trade path of Bavaria. In the fifteenth century, barons of Janovice waged constant war with the German neighbours and the castle was fortified and enlarged. During the Thirty Years' War many battles took place here and the castle was considerably devastated. In 1676 it is described as quite devastated. Life returned in the romantic 19th century, the view tower was built in 1847-1848. A part of the novella "Consuela" by George Sand was set in the ruin of the castle. The amphitheatre was built in 1935-1936 and is used in summer until today. Created in RealityCapture by Capturing Reality from 612 images in 08h:30m:45s. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab
