Triptych with a pieta (1487-95) by Bernt Notke in Lübeck. In 1640 it was brought to a newly built church on the island of Thurø near Svendborg, but its original provenance is unknown. On each side an angel is kneeling with instruments of the Passion: cross, nails, pillar and whip. The wings have the remains of portraits of King Christian I (1448-81) and Queen Dorothea in her widow's gown, with St. Bartholomew and St. John as intercessors. The coats-of-arms of the royal couple are found on the breasts of the kneeling angels in the central part. in the inscription on the base the royal couple prays: "Jesus Christ, the Son of Mary, have mercy on us.
