Viking Brooch
Description
Recreation of a 'Viking' Disc Brooch found in Leicestershire, dated c. 900-1000AD. The brooch is an example of an Anglo-Scandinavian brooch with Scandinavian decoration and Insular fittings in the Borre art style. The original is copper-alloy (bronze), but may have had some silvering - I've omitted that portion as it's hard to tell how much was covered.
The original is in the [Portable Antiquites Scheme database (ID Number LEIC-782CD2)](https://finds.org.uk/database/artefacts/record/id/130531). It's about 30.5mm in diameter and 2mm thick. It has a hooked latch - the pin and shank are speculative, but based on other finds.
