Description

Introduction

vLithium-ion batteries (LIBs) are widely used as an energy source across industries, but sustainable waste management processes are essential to reduce ecological damage and preserve resources at their end of life.

vBattery recycling decreases the release of hazardous materials and conserves natural resources while reducing the production costs of new batteries.

vThe recycling process includes sorting, disassembly, shredding, and material separation followed by component recycling through various processes to make new batteries or other products.

vMolten salt-assisted roasting is a cost-effective and efficient approach for battery recycling that breaks down cathodic components into their water-soluble form using molten salt.
