Description

Arakul Mountains. Russia, Chelyabinsk region. Arakul mountains (Shikhani) - granite rock massif of the Middle Urals, the southernmost and highest (more than 40 meters). They are located in the Chelyabinsk region, near the city of Verkhny Ufaley and 6 km east of the station of the village of Silach. Nearby in the intermontane depression is Lake Arakul. The Arakul mountains go from north to south over 2 km. The maximum chain width is 40-50 meters, the maximum height above the ground is 80 meters (Chamberlain peak). In total, 11 lakes are visible from the summit of Chamberlain. The eastern side, facing Lake Arakul, has a height of about 30-40 meters above the ground. The western slope is much lower (15-20 m) and more gentle / Аракульские шиханы. Россия, Челябинская область.
