Diagnosis. The new species can be distinguished from its congeners in the male genitalia by the heavily sclerotized socius with the right brachium lacking a dorsal process, and the triangular right valvella; and in the female genitalia by the funnel-shaped sterigma with a long free tube-shaped process extending from the posterior margin.

Description. Adult (Fig. 7). Wingspan 8.5–9.5 mm.

Head. Vertex and frons white. Antennae pale yellow, scape white at apex, flagellum alternated with white dorsally. Labial palpi with second palpomere white, pale yellow at apex; third palpomere pale yellow.

Thorax. Dorsum of mesothorax and tegulae white, with yellow stripes. Forewings orange yellow, with scattered black scales; broad white band at basal 1/4, extending from Sc vein obliquely inward to dorsum, edged with black scales; cream fascia extending from 3/5 of costal margin to dorsum, mixed with yellowish brown scales; white streak from distal 1/5 of costal margin obliquely inward to termen; longitudinal white streak from outside of the preceding white streak extending along termen to apical angle; fringes yellow, mixed with black, with pink along dorsum. Hindwings and fringes deep brown. Foreleg pale yellow, tibia mixed with brown scales, white at apex; midleg pale yellow, femur white at apex, tibia with whorls of bristles white in basal half, yellow mottled with black in distal half, 4–5 tarsomeres white; hindleg with femur white, tibia with whorls of bristles white in basal half, yellow mottled with black in distal half, tarsus with 1–3 tarsomeres yellow, 4–5 tarsomeres white, first tarsomere ringed with white at apex.

Male abdomen and genitalia (Fig. 15):

Male abdomen. Pleural lobes of eighth segment subquadrate, 3/4 length of valva.

Male genitalia. Socius with right brachium heavily sclerotized in distal 3/4, narrowed from base to 1/4, then uniformly wide to 2/3, narrowed again to obtuse apex, its inner margin obtusely protruding at basal 2/3; without distinct dorsal process. Left brachium about 2/3 length of right brachium, narrowed from base to middle, bent at middle, distal half heavily sclerotized, narrowed to rounded apex. Valvae straight, rodlike, narrowed from base to middle, distal half expanded ovally, with dense setae in distal 3/5 ventrally. Left valvella slender, uniformly wide, about 1/2 length of phallus; right valvella triangular, very short. Phallus narrowed to apex.

Female genitalia (Fig. 22). Apophyses posteriores 2.5 times as long as apophyses anteriores. Sterigma funnel shaped, with a long gradually narrowed tube-shaped process arising from posterior margin. Ductus bursae as long as apophyses posteriores, membranous. Corpus bursae subelliptical, shorter than ductus bursae; entrance near posterior end of corpus bursae; signum absent.

Distribution. China (Guangxi, Hainan).

Etymology. The specific epithet of this new species is derived from the Latin im- and projectus referring to the absence of the dorsal process on the right brachium of the socius in the male genitalia.
