Vouchers: UCR 1002-003 (11), 1004-003 (5), 1052-015 (13), 1053-009 (1), 1055-006 (21), 1057-011 (2) and 1062-014 (1); other collections: IBUNAM 13814 (1) and 13815 (1). Distribution: Central America; from southern Nicaragua to northeastern Costa Rica, Atlantic drainages; (Nicaragua) Es, BF, IM, To, Sa and SJ (Atlantic); 9– 68 masl; Sec, Pot. Occurrence and conservation status: Nat; VU B1ab(iii) (2020), population trend unknown. Literature: Bussing (1998: 200, as Brachyrhaphis parismina —synonym; brief description, including illustrations and an identification key, and information on distribution, with a map, and ecology) and Angulo (2021: 55; listed, including information on distribution).
