Chaetocalirrhoe grandis Townsend, 1935: 218. References: Guimarães (1971: 28; catalog); O’Hara et al. (2020: 36; checklist of World Tachinidae).
Material examined. Holotype male (USNM; examined from photographs):“ Kenscoff / Haiti /24.VI.31/ Myers /2061”; “ Chaetocalirrhoe / grandis TT / Townsend / Det CHTT ♂ ”; “HT ♂ / Type ”; ‘USNMENT/01518135”. Holotype in good condition, but with left wing damaged, and scutum and scutellum damaged close to pin.
Diagnosis. Prementum short, about 0.5x length of head. Postpedicel light brown, but proximal 1/5 dark yellow. Upper calypter hyaline. Abdomen yellow with a continuous dorsal brownish-black median vitta, uninterrupted from syntergite 1+2 to tergite 5, and with silver pruinosity on tergites 3 to 5.
Distribution. Haiti (Kenscoff).
