Description
War memorial by sculptor Heribert Rath in Bockfließ. At the end of a short path lined with plaques bearing the names of the victims of both world wars is this sculpture of Saint George on horseback slaying a dragon.
According to tradition, George was beheaded at the beginning of the persecution of Christians under Diocletian. He is one of the fourteen emergency helpers and is the patron saint of various countries and cities.
